Biennial my Friend

In 2010, children established an active and intense relationship with the biennial exhibitions within the scope of the Biennial Children's Program of the 2nd Çanakkale Biennial. They met and participated in the biennial, and participated to painting, ceramics, drama and contemporary art workshops. All the elementary schools in Çanakkale visited the biennial exhibitions accompanied by guides and participated in the workshops. At the end of this process, the children wanted to organize a biennial in which their own works were exhibited. This event, which they called “Biennial My Friend” was held in November 2010 in Çimenlik Castle exhibition halls. Biennial My Friend, attended by Mehmet Aksoy as a guest artist and trainer, was the first event in which children's productions were supported and exhibited in Çanakkale. My friend Biennial exhibition also participated to the 1st Istanbul Children and Youth Biennial in Istanbul that same year. It was the beginning of the Çanakkale Children's Biennial.
