Biennial Children's Workshops

As part of the 9th Çanakkale Biennial, the Biennial Children's Workshops, open to children aged 7-12 and initiated by Nini Önözden and Yıldız Çapkan, were held on Sunday, October 27, at StudioMAHAL.

Designed in line with the biennial’s conceptual framework titled "Let It Take Its Time," the workshops encouraged children to reflect on the concept of time and create artworks using various artistic practices.

In the conceptual art workshop led by Yıldız Çapkan, children engaged in discussions about the notion of time before producing three-dimensional artistic works. They explored an experimental process using materials such as sky imagery representing different times of the day or melting ice masses.

Meanwhile, in the workshops facilitated by Nini Önözden, children worked on communication and empathy through creative drama techniques. They also created both two-dimensional and three-dimensional artworks using natural materials, recycled objects, and technological elements.
