Ferhat Satıcı, Logbook of Street Exhibition
Ferhat Satıcı's exhibition "Logbook of Street", which presents sections from his art practice of the last 10 years, opened at MAHAL on November 19!
In his solo exhibition, Satıcı tries to make visible the hidden routes between monumentality, sculpture, everyday life, transience and permanence in his notebooks that contain the traces of a long journey. In the interval between conventional endeavors, manual labor and artistic and technological practices, he also focuses on the formation and development stages of the artwork.
"The Logbook of Street" presents a holistic cross-section of the artist's attempt to reflect the permeable effect of the landscape we see on our minds as it disperses, mixes and overlaps at the end of a day spent walking on the streets of the city: "The traces left on the street by evaporating publicities wait for the opening of the logbook, like a city line ferry that is put on the sled after serving the public for many years."
Satıcı's sculptures, videos, watercolors, found objects and other mediums that draw strength from the juxtaposition of the traditional and the contemporary are on view at MAHAL until December 20.
