Spaces of Culture: Sweden Mobility Program and Co-Production Fund

Deniz Erbaş, representing Çanakkale Biennial, participated in the Stockholm-Sweden stage of the International Mobility Programme of Spaces of Culture, which aims to facilitate joint project ideas that culture and art professionals from Turkey and programme partner countries can work together.

While meeting with representatives of Sweden's most prestigious art institutions such as IASPIS, Moderna Museet, Statenskonstråd, Kulturhuset Stadsteatern, Fotografiska, Konsthall C, she also had the opportunity to meet many independent curators and artists.

Deniz Erbaş, who applied to the call for the Co-Production Fund opened by Space for Culture as a continuation of the International Mobility Programme, for her collaboration with curator Ulrika Flink for the 9th Çanakkale Biennial, which will take place in autumn 2024, was entitled to be supported.

‘Spaces of Culture’ provides spaces and resources for the realization of cultural projects within the visual and performing arts, as well as for discussion, training and development opportunities for local institutions, cultural professionals and community members interested in these fields. Together with partners from the Turkish and European cultural scene, this project contributes to a wide and diverse program of arts-based community exchange in the regions it covers.

The project is initiated by Goethe-Institut, the Consulate General of Sweden in Istanbul, the Embassy of the Netherlands and the Institut francais de Turquie; in cooperation with Anadolu Kültür and Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (IKSV).
