MAHAL was at booth LK-18 with young generation artists from Çanakkale at CI Bloom held at Lütfi Kırdar Convention and Exhibition Center between April 24-28!
MAHAL, was part of the section reserved for initiatives and institutions at the 3rd edition of Contemporary Istanbul Bloom, and represented young generation of artists from Çanakkale under the curatorship of Burak Topçakıl.
CI Bloom visitors were presented with a selection of exhibitions realized at MAHAL with young generation artists in recent years. Artists who experience the natural and virtual world that surrounds us, organic and digital universes together, who live in this environment where these seemingly opposing realities coexist, met with art lovers at CI Bloom, an art event heralding spring.
Ayça Ay's landscape drawings made with charcoal collected from burnt forests, Büşra Aydagün's works interpreting the concept of "root" as both its natural connotations and the projections of her journey towards her family roots, and Gökçe Kınay's oil series focusing on gardens as transitional spaces between nature and culture built the universe of the exhibition focusing on the natural environment. Berkin Gülten's "Miss World" VR installation and Can Ünlü's "Makinalaşmak İstiyorum" photography series added a second layer to the exhibition by proposing a digital ecosystem that explores the visual culture codes of the virtual world.
