Volkan Babaotu, known for his works at the intersection of graphic arts, art direction, and industrial design, has recently combined his practice with environmental awareness through his experiences in the automotive industry, where he encountered non-biodegradable waste materials. By repurposing Polyurea—a material used in auto coating that is notoriously difficult to break down—Babaotu has not only created a new medium to reflect his rich visual universe but also developed a powerful language to raise ecological awareness.
His series Spectrum of Seasons presents the seasons not in a linear sequence but as an intertwined and chaotic experience. The vibrancy of spring, the warmth of summer, the melancholy of autumn, and the silence of winter blend and intersect in a fluid arrangement. The exhibition emphasizes time as a transient and fluid reality, confronting the viewer with its complexity and uncertainty, and inviting them on a journey beyond conventional meanings.
