Bashir was born in 1977, in Karachaevsk-Russia. Lives and works in Istanbul.
Bashir Borlakov in his photographs, combines images and elements unexpected to be juxtaposed and therefore
creates a sense of deterritorialization on the understanding of the viewer. He builds up compositions, which
instead of clear interpretations, open the door for connotations. The horizontal and panoramic framing where
the artist uses the old Soviet rural as a background, focuses on a broader time that has a different rhythm and
functioning than the pace of metropolis and where the nature reciprocates it. Besides the amazingness of the
juxtaposition, it also produces transitions and slips between time layers.
