Journalist and writer Cengiz Aktar worked for the United Nations from 1989 to 1994 and served as a vice president of the intergovernmental consultative committee which was shaped by European Union’s migration and asylum policies. From 1994 to 1999, he was the head of the United Nations's mission in Slovenia. Aktar participate in the 5. Çanakkale Biennial with a selection of stories of immigrants whom he met and witnessed during his work with United Nations.
