Fikret Atay was born in 1976 in Batman, Turkey. Lives and works in Batman.
Fikret Atay’s video Spring Fever draws attention with the functional
rhythm that defines the works of the artist. In the anti-CPE (the first
employment agreement) protests in the March of 2006 in Paris, Atay
catches a movement similar to wave by focusing the bodies of the
protesters with the camera capture.
The name of this video refers to young people’s efforts to prove
themselves in a political way. Atay brings the audiences to that
moment with the energy in the video and causes them to feel
indisposed. The audiences can never be indifferent to that video work.
