Thinking of the ferocity of war in Gallipoli after a century, there appear to be two separate timespans: Human life
and the time of nature. While human consciousness can contemplate a time outside and beyond itself only through
the ruins of the past, the unique built in memory of natural processes aims at cloaking these ruins to return them to
‘nature’. While observing the battlefield through the eyes of the soldiers who fought there, Her Taraf No Man’s Land
aims to approach the memory of this land, now history, by way of the century old wars, ruins and struggles from
across the globe. From now on, in human imagination the names of the cities designate a global theater of struggle
rather than national territory.
